A two-thirds majority is called a 'supermajority'.
The first supermajority was ...for God, against Lucifer.
God didn't need a supermajority ...but He got it!!
From Global Warming ...to Climate Change ...to what change?? Who fears another flood ...when God gave us a rainbow as a sign that it would not happen again. Don't need any lobbyists for that one.
And no, No-ah was not an environmentalist ...he was merely a righteous man, when they were in short supply.
There was also an assembly ...gathered against Moses and Aaron, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown. And the earth opened up and swallowed them.
You may not judge that as right ...seeing it a merely a different point of view, but neither you nor I can claim to be the judge. From the Book of Judges, we see a man entering one of the cities of the respected people (Chapter 19). The people of the city came with questionable intent, and were asked to do what seemed 'good' to them to do.
When the people of the city did such wickedness that it could not be ignored, the people gathered together to demand justice. The city would not heed the request, and battled against them with no thought of the injustice ...twice they battled, and twice the lawless of the city prevailed.
While going up against the city, the first time they asked God who of their men should go first in battle. After the first defeat, they'd asked God if they should battle them again. Who'd argue with the correctness to go to God in prayer ...yet, what seemed in question was their resolve. It had nothing to do with the fact that they had suffered a defeat ...as they had truly failed much before that, in having allowed themselves to get so complacent. In their hearts it was not whether they'd get a victory, but whether they believed in what they were fighting for.
The third time, God promised them victory.
